I hate the sun.having worked in the Customer Relations Management industry for the past two years has made me sunlight intolerant for some reason.You see, when you primarily cater to the great people of imperialist
I woke up a couple of minutes before eleven o’clock in the morning ; irritating sunlight seeping in through my bedroom window.I made a feeble attempt to sit up but my head feels like it was sodomized by a rhino.Honestly, I don’t recall how I got home but this familiar hangover tells me that I’ve only slept for three hours tops—and it was a totally demented and uncomfortable sleep abounding with incoherent dreams of theme parks, sausages and Jolina Magdangal at that.Strangely, Nisha was also part of that dream.
I sprang out of bed to make a trip to the john but even that was a bad idea.Apparently my legs were no more sober than I am and instead of taking me to the bathroom, they send me crashing straight into a wall.It’s kind of like one of those Looney tunes moments where you half-expect your face to be engraved on the wall or something.My next door neighbor probably loved the loud crashing sound it made but they must’ve enjoyed the louder scuffling noise that went on for a good five minutes more.That was me using the wall to guide me to and fro the bathroom.I hurled, washed my face and tried my best to go back to bed for more sleep and dingy dreams…but…
My phone is not cooperating.I normally love my trusty Motorola but today, Moto is my adversary.It won’t let me sleep.I look at the Caller Line Identification in the bluish external screen of the cursed clamshell phone:

“Hello Mark, what’s up?” I said sounding like a pensioner.
“Mike?” Mark asks.
“Yes,” I almost whisper, smelling my own foul breath.
“Are you okay? I heard Nisha had to let you sleep over at her place before she could take you home.I was kind of worried for you when you were giving away your phone to the guard on our way out of the bar last night.”Mark says with a hint of genuine concern in his voice.
“WHAT?!” So that’s how I got home.
“You weren’t stupid enough to sleep with Nisha last night were you?” he asks.
“Jesus, honestly, I don’t know.Listen man.” I yawn and try to collect my thoughts.“Maybe we and the boys can chill out over billiards or something then maybe pop a few bottles.I’ll TRY to explain then.”
“Come on man!, tell me now please! Masakit sa puson! Just admit you did it!” he pleads.
“Mark, dude, you’re gonna have to wait till later.I couldn’t do justice on any story now.” I say dismissively.“I need a couple of more hours of sleep to collect my brains and get a better angle on this entire fucking mess.”
“Okay lover boy! So you want me to call the guys now?” He says referring to our friends.
I’m drifting again “Yes, and I think Jolina Magdangal has hottie potential.”
“huh? What the fuck are you talking about?” he asks.
“Oh, sorry I think I’m drifting back to sleep.I think I was dreaming of Jolina before you called me.”I said sitting up and pulling the curtains over the window.My room instantly drowns in darkness again.
“hahaha! Alright go back to sleep you idiot!Maybe you didn’t sleep with Nisha after all; maybe you slept with Jolina! See you later man!” Now that’s a scary thought.
I press the end call button and crashed back into bed.Sleep is so much wonderful when you skip work to get drunk.
Actually no, “wonderful” is an understatement—it’s a piece of heaven…
